Willem Hansum is from Zoetermeer (Holland), he makes fresh and idiosyncratic paintings in the style of Pop Art.
He only makes paintings that he finds beautiful, without immediately having to find a deeper meaning for them. For him, the most important thing is that the attention of the viewer is automatically drawn to his paintings. Important here are originality, composition and use of color. Of course he also wants to surprise his audience, stimulate them and give people something to think about.
He gets his inspiration from everywhere, although he is especially attracted to objects and people from roughly the period of 1935 to 1976.
His ideas are largely worked out on the computer and then put on the canvas with a lot of attention and energy. Just hand painted, accurate and just as long until it is completely to your liking.
His love for painting became more serious around 2014 and he is now exhibiting his work to a wider audience.
