Jessica Campbell-Plover is a contemporary urban feminist artist and designer based in Cornwall.
Jess’ subject matter often explores socio-political subjects, with much focus based around the modern upsurge of feminism, gender issues and youth disenchantment, as her form of protest art. She juxtaposes suggestive imagery with empowering or confrontational statements as her way of reclaiming the female form from the male gaze.
Her creations are inspired by a variety of weird and wonderful sources, such as vintage erotica, style subcultures, graffiti, abandoned places, seedy back streets, neon lights, dark comedy, album artwork and the circus.
Jess' artwork mixes together elements of fashion illustration, street art and erotic imagery through a variety of mediums such as collage, spray paint, acrylic paint, marker pen and Photoshop.
She studied a Fashion Design BA at the University of South Wales and a Costume Design MA at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and now creates her bold artwork in her studio.
