Freya Rose Ellis

I am a 22 year old artist based in Ilfracombe, Devon.

I studied illustration at Plymouth College of Arts- but after a while I realised higher education wasn’t really for me,

however I continued to create whatever I felt like creating in my room with paints, pens and also digital art.

That’s where I really began to find my style and that’s where I am truly at my happiest

Drawing has always been a form of escapism for me.

Living with dyslexia has been difficult especially throughout my school years.

Drawing opened up a path for me to escape how I felt at the time.

I channelled my feeling of being "stupid" into illustration, creating portraits that depict my creative outlook on the world.

My portraits mostly resemble fierce, beautiful yet tough women that represent strength and beauty in femininity.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by, and inspired by strong beautiful women throughout my life,

so I like to base my artwork off the inspiration I feel from knowing such wonderful people.
